by Kim and Charles Petty

A lot of online based businesses forget about offline advertising. It is important to combine offline and online advertising together in your marketing campaign. You can market offline more effectively by targeting people that actually have access to the internet. In all your advertising you want to include your web site address, e-mail or autoresponder addresses, and the e-mail address to subscribe to your e-zine. Below are 10 offline marketing ideas:

-Place classified or full page ads in print publications. The print publications should be computer or internet related.

-Post flyers in stores. They could be computer stores, software stores, libraries etc.

-Buy mailing lists and send direct mail. You should make sure that all the people on the mailing list are internet users.

-Buy commercial time on T.V. They can be during shows that are targeted toward internet users.c

-Pass out your CD-ROM or diskette business cards at special events. It could be at trade shows, seminars, fairs, etc.

-Set up a deal with another business that targets internet users. Pay the business to insert your business ads in their product packages.

-Hold a free offline class and teach people how to use their computer or how to use the internet. You could have your web site on display as an example.

-Do co-op mailings with other businesses. They should also be targeting people with internet access.

-Give away free mouse pads. Put your advertising on the mouse pads and give them away at computer or internet events.

-Advertise in card decks. The card deck you advertise in should be targeted toward internet users.

You would also want to target your offline advertising to groups of people that will actually be interested in your product or service. If you’re selling business books, you will want to market to business owners. In conclusion, if you have a business that’s only based online, you don’t want to market to people that don’t have access to the internet. —-

Have you ever wanted to buy a product online but chose not to do it because shipping charges were extravagant? Many shoppers tend to find this news startling and with the price of nearly everything going up, the shipping costs for purchasing products online will also increase. This leaves many online shoppers frustrated and looking for ways to get free shipping service.

This store began in the early 20th century as a lone store. However, it grew to compete with many other retail outlets. With the wide range of products it offers, JcPenney can compete among the best of them.

To get full speed ahead, JcPenney went online to offer their products to many of those who may not have a store in their town. While it’s been successful, JcPenney executives began to search for ways to lower the costs of shipping. Now, there are warehouses all around the continental United States.

They have also taken their shipping further. Promotional codes, which can be found throughout the Internet and newspapers, can be used to decrease the costs to you the consumer. The JcPenney website also has the option to get codes for specific coupons sent directly to your email.

Email Marketing List

Filed under: Marketing Articles — Raymond Lam @ 3:06 pm
by Ray Lam

Email marketing is one of the very important and less costly ways of promoting a website. It is one of the ways which has proven to be a very effective method of promoting a website. Although email marketing is a great option for promoting a website, email marketing campaigns are totally dependent on the list building factor. If the list of email addresses is not built carefully, the email marketing efforts will just go down the drain, without producing any positive results.

Email marketing, like any form of direct response marketing, is driven by the rule of List, Offer, and Presentation (LOP). Essentially what this rule governs is the success factors in email marketing communications — where “success” is a measure of how much response there is to your email advertisement or promotion. The LOP rule suggests that selecting the right “list” (i.e. your audience) contributes 50% of the success of any given email marketing campaign, and 40% comes from having the right “offer”. The remaining 10% comes from the “presentation” or the creative component of the email that carries your offer to the email list.

The best email list building strategy for any website is to collect the required information about the visitors of your website. You can use squeeze pages for this purpose. Even those businesses which also have a physical storefront can benefit by collecting information from their visitors. This may take some time, but the lists created in this manner are the most authentic and dependable ones.

Opt in email list marketing begins by purchasing an autoresponder service. I particularly like aweber, in fact, that is the only one I can recommend. You have to have a professional autoresponder service if you are going to do this in a professional fashion and not be banned by the various email services.

If you want opt build a list of 1000 email addresses, one way of doing it is to use a squeeze page. These pages are used on the web site to get some information from the internet surfers. They need to fill in a form, and give you your email address. People may be interested in giving out their email address but on the other hands, there may be some people who will not like to opt in for any such list. As a result the process of list building will take some time. It may take some time, but the list you will build in this way will be surely impressive.

Why Not Use Your eBook as Advertising Space?

Filed under: Marketing Articles — Stu McLaren @ 11:48 am
by Stu McLaren

Do you just create eBooks as a form of revenue? Why not use it for more than that? By throwing a little creativity into the mix you can use your eBooks in a variety of ways that will allow you to generate income on multiple levels.

To be more specific, you could actually sell advertising within the eBook you are creating to make money.

Example. There’s an eBook out there on how to design a wedding on a budget. The wedding industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Let me ask you a question: Do you think some of the companies that sell products and services for people who are getting married would be interested in getting in front of somebody who has purchased a particular product on the exact topic that they have built their business around?

It may sound like a simple question and answer, but that is the question I want all of you to ask yourself. What kind of businesses would be interested in getting in front of the people you will be attracting? This should be one of those creative questions you constantly ask yourself.

One more time. Thinking about my target audience, what businesses would be interested in having a way to get in front of them?

You mind is going to start to race about all kinds of other businesses. Some may even be your competitors. But there could be some other complimentary businesses that provide services or products to the particular market that you’re marketing to, who would be interested in purchasing ad space within your particular eBook.

It is up to you how you put together you eBook with the ads. They could be scattered throughout, all together at the beginning or at the end. It doesn’t matter how you lay them out, it just provides you a method of generating revenue by selling advertising.

Adding value to your current costumers is also another thing you can do with your eBooks. For me I try to constantly work on developing and maintaining good relationships with the people on my email list. I don’t have a big email list, but I have a great one.

I want to constantly add value to everyone on my list and all of my customers and one of those could be by compiling a very valuable eBook that summarizes or perhaps outlines the step by step procedures, or provides clarity on a particular topic that my email list may be desperate to find out.

Adding value to my current customers and you is what I constantly try to do, especially when they are win-win for both of us.

If you know exactly what your target market is looking for, or needs help with, or they’re seeking a certain solution for something, and then you provide an eBook that outlines the step by step procedures to solve their particular issues, that is of great value. You’re adding to the relationship by creating and compiling an eBook and giving it to your current customers. I want you to constantly think about that.

Going into any business with that mindset about your customers and throw in a little creativity, all different opportunities for more profit will emerge!

Ideas will come to you when you explore the possibilities of creativity!

How New Business Development Develops Results For Companies

Filed under: Marketing Articles — Hugh Roberts @ 10:45 am
by Hugh Roberts

Sales development is the act of developing a person in the act of sales. Sales, which can be done individually or as part of a team, is where a person sells a merchandise or service to a buyer. It is often believed that sales is the same as marketing but there is a distinct difference - marketing exists to advocate a product by making it desirable to a prospective buyer and, through this, may inactively produce a sale. On the other hand, a sales person actively interacts with a prospective buyer, showing directly how their product or service can assist the buyer by offering them tailored information. The best sales team is someone who works in conjunction with their buyer and acts to solve the client’s needs and goals with the goods or service to be sold.

Sales is an important part of modern business models. Not only does the sales person sell a corporate item or service, they also labor to generate unique business prospects and generate customers for their company, thereby supporting and growing their business’ customer base and industry standing. Sales is often the public face of a business so it necessary that adequate sales training is given to the sales person so that they can excel in their selling role but also know how to be the best promoter possible for the goods and the company.

There is a plethora of techniques a company can use to connect with their client. Direct sales - where the company interacts directly with their client - is probably the most well-known. The most recognized direct selling techniques are door-to-door selling and telemarketing; in both cases the company directly connects with the client at home or at their place of business to inform them about the goods. Another form of direct selling is ‘consultative selling’ whereby the company interacts directly with the customer but initially begins by consulting the client about what products or services they require and developing solutions in consultation with the client. Companies also often sell products through retailers - so called ‘middle men’ - and through mail order, while the rise of the net has given corporations a new way in which to deal with prospective customers. As can be seen, there is an incredible variety in the way corporations contact, connect and potentially sell to a client, which has increased the necessity of sales training.

Sales development focuses on the variety of methods a sales person can use when directly interacting with the client, so integral in these days of direct selling. Although there are a variety of particular methods tailored for different methods of selling, the main psychology behind excellent sales practice is five-fold: analyze a client’s needs, offer solutions to the client, discuss the advantages of the goods, overcome any questions the buyer may have and close the sale. This practice can sometimes be condensed to a three-part methodology: discover the buyer, present to the buyer and finish the sale.

Sales training courses are widely available with many training schools and expert businesses offering courses that you can take in person or via correspondence or the internet. Many large businesses have also developed their own in-house sales development programs. There are also a plethora of books available on the subject.

Competent sales development will always highlight the need to ask customers questions in order to better provide them solutions, will always highlight the necessity of understanding your merchandise and will include motivational material, as selling is a high-pressure occupation that not only needs a lot of self-motivation but also deals with a lot of rejection as well.

Incentive programs, what they’re for and how to use them are also included in a lot of sales training. These ’sales incentive programs’ or SIP’s, are a tool used to encourage a sales agent and sets out specific goals for achievement, which aims to concentrate selling activity.

Sales development will teach you self-motivation, direction and exceptional interaction abilities and, as such, would stand any person in good stead for any leadership role outside of sales, as well as within.

More importantly, you should remember that the only payment should be from made from the survey website to you, as there is no reason for them to ask for payment in return, simply because you are the one who is offering your services.

When it comes to determining which website to sign up with, especially when there are so many available online today, you should always ensure that the website provides adequate customer service. This is because during the course of doing the different surveys that you will be required to do, you are bound to have many questions regarding the different requirements of each survey. As a result, a website that provides you with satisfactory customer service standards, will ease your job, thereby helping you work more efficiently.

One other way you can find information and news on online paid survey websites, is to explore forums available on the Internet, that discuss the latest happenings in the get paid survey market. In these forums, you will also get the chance to speak with individuals who make a decent living from doing paid surveys online. You can also make enquiries on all questions and issues related to doing paid surveys online, as there are many experienced individuals who can guide you through the process and help you earn a decent living from doing surveys online.

Once you have the necessary information, and have enough knowledge about how paid survey websites work, then you should be able to decide on a website to sign up. It is always important that you avoid rushing into signing up with a website, because you will be giving them a lot of personal information.

However, you?ll be pleased to know that most paid surveys websites are legit, and once a few people have begun making some money from it, it is highly like that you can do so as well.
